The Art Barrio by Sky Village After School Arts Program offers children ages 8–12 the chance to explore weekly arts and cooking classes in a warm, creative environment right in the heart of Astoria.

Inspired by the Yin Yang Theory in Chinese philosophy, we believe that greater physical, mental, and emotional balance can be achieved through the practice of diverse art forms, proper nutrition, and mindful meditation. Our TWEEN program at Art Barrio by Sky Village (34-14 Broadway) focuses on visual arts while also including a daily 10-minute “mind break” to help students calm their nervous systems and sharpen their focus.

Students should have an interest and aptitude for drawing and painting. We’ll explore a variety of art methods including origami, mosaic tiling, perler beading, printmaking, 3D drawing, painting, and sewing.

Through our consistent after-school routine, we aim to help your child develop habits and systems that foster lasting happiness and well-being.

HOLIDAYS

Art Barrio by Sky Village plans to be open for most school holidays during the year. Students enrolled in the After School Arts Program have priority for childcare on these days. Your flat weekly fee covers most holidays, and there are no additional charges unless you register for Winter Break, Mid-Winter Break, or Spring Break camps ($575, 8am–3pm).

Closed on:

• Thanksgiving & the day after

• Christmas & the day after

• New Year’s Day & the day after

• Memorial Day

If these holidays fall on a weekend, we are also closed for:

• First Day of Passover

• Good Friday

Please note: We do not offer refunds for personal sick days, vacations, or snow days. If public schools are closed for an emergency, the program will also be closed.

REGISTER

Tuition is $290 per week for the school year (Monday–Friday), which includes school pick-up, homework help, and multiple specialty art classes each week.
